Central Nebraska’s Farm Safety 4 Just Kids

This year, Safety Day occurred on Wednesday, June 7th and the main topic was bike safety. Every child attending received a bike helmet along with a goodie bag filled with donated items from area businesses.

Our most valuable asset is our children.  Yet, each year thousands of children are hurt as a result of a preventable accident.  Central Nebraska’s Farm Safety 4 Just Kids goal is to increase awareness of farm and home hazards to make farms and homes a safer place to live, work, and play.  The mission of Safety Day is simple – to provide education and training to make rural living safer and healthier for children and their communities.

Safety Day is a one-day event that teaches youth precautionary measures through fun, hands-on, learning activities.  By teaching kindergarten through sixth-grade youth safety and health information for our rural area, we hope to prevent injury or death that could occur because of an accident.

Central Nebraska’s Farm Safety 4 Just Kids is a non-profit program funded through generous donations and volunteers who serve presenters, group leaders, and others giving of their time, talent, and treasure.

At the heart of this effort is the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program.  Not only is this beneficial program offered to youth in the United States, but it is also conducted in Canada, U.S. Territories, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.  You can learn more about this program by visiting https://www.progressiveag.org/
