Immunizations are essential in disease prevention. Vaccines were developed and made available to help control the spread of infectious diseases that were once devastating for the citizens of this country. Vaccines are safe and effective against many diseases including polio, hepatitis, meningitis, measles, pertussis (whooping cough), mumps and many others. 

Loup Basin Smiles is a fluoride varnish program for head starts, preschools, and elementary schools in LBPHD's 9 districts. We provide this program every school year to help reduce oral disease and improve the oral health of our students. LBPHD uses licensed dental hygienists to perform oral screenings and apply fluoride varnish treatments to children's teeth. The program reaches over 2,000 students during the school year.
